"From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother"
Henry V, William Shakespeare
70 years ago this morning Allied forces began landing on the beaches of Normandy as part of Operation Overlord. We know it by its more colloquial name, D-Day.
We pay tribute to all who fought as well as to those who endured on the home front. Our debt to them can be never truly be repaid.
"Lest we forget."
